This project features 195 auditorium chairs supplied by our factory for a performing arts center in Thailand.
During the early discussions, we introduced three common options for auditorium seating legs: steel, aluminum alloy, and wood. The client initially preferred aluminum alloy legs, as their city experiences heavy rainfall and a humid climate. They were concerned that steel legs might rust over time.
However, when calculating the total cost, the all-aluminum option slightly exceeded the client’s budget. To address this, we proposed a hybrid solution: using aluminum alloy for the chair parts that touch the floor, while applying a painted steel frame for the arms’ frame. This adjustment reduced the cost by around 20% without compromising durability. The client accepted our suggestion, which struck a balance between performance and budget.
For the seat and back shells, we used painted plywood, a material known for its strong load-bearing capacity. With proper use and no intentional damage, these auditorium chairs are expected to last at least 7–8 years.
The installation was completed smoothly, and the final effect was excellent. This project demonstrates how performing arts center seating can be customized to meet both functional requirements and cost considerations, ensuring long-term durability and aesthetics.
