2. Client Needs and Challenges

This project was handled by one of our long-term clients. They reached out to us saying that a local university’s lecture hall needed to replace a batch of old chairs. However, the hall’s layout was curved, which initially raised concerns about proper installation.

We assured the client that this type of layout posed no problem. We only asked them to have a local designer prepare an accurate CAD floor plan so we could configure the appropriate chair components to fit the curves. The client agreed without any issues.

When it came to style, the client wanted chairs that looked unique, but their budget wasn’t very high.

3. Our Solution

Initially, we recommended a cost-effective aluminum-leg chair with a plywood shell and painted finish, which was sturdy, durable, and practical. However, the client felt that the visual impact wasn’t strong enough.

Taking into account both the client’s preferences and the end university’s taste, we then suggested a double-backrest auditorium chair. This design not only looked more elegant and distinctive but also fit within the budget.

After the client shared the proposal with the university, the end user expressed great satisfaction with the design.

4. Project Outcome
